PASSAGEM GOLD MINE - Gold discovering was in 1719. Currently gold production is over and this mine is the only one open for tourism in Brazil.The tour is made by trolley on a 315 meters ride, reaching 120 meters deep.Nine different gallery levels on a sixteen linear kilometers of extension. Besides gold, there is copper sulfate, arsenic, pyrite and turmanilite. Located 7 kilometers from Ouro Preto.

RODRIGO SILVA MINE - The rarest kind of topaz is called Imperial. The color ranges from pale yellow to dark brown, including redish, pinkish and champagne. It is found only in Ouro Preto county. Daily guided tours are offered.

ANTONIO PEREIRA MINE - This one is an Imperial Topaz mine. Gemstone found only around Ouro Preto. It is an open pit mining. Guided tours are offered daily. Located 25 kilometers away from Ouro Preto.

MINA DO CHICO REI - Another private back yard mine in Ouro Preto. Acording the legend this gold mine belonged to a former slave who was an african king and after saving money bought his freedom and the mine. It is also known as Encardideira.

MINA VELHA - Located at the backyard  of a private home in Ouro Preto, it has two diferent levels of galeries.
